Temporary and seasonal jobs are offered at the majority of state parks and recreation areas, with varying periods of work to include more chances during our peak season. A range of opportunities are offered, including park attendants, lifeguards, workplace assistants, naturalists, upkeep employees, and premises keepers.

All seasonal positions at Jordan Lake State Recreation Area are noted below. Not all of them are currently open for hiring. Please check the top of the park’s web pages for a green alert that notes which task applications are currently being accepted by park staff. General Utility Worker

General Utility Workers work seasonally up to 40 hours per week, with holiday and weekend work needed. The positions typically begin from March-April and run through September-October.

This position is responsible for park clean-up and day-to-day upkeep in particular areas, which will be designated to each employee.

This includes cleaning restrooms, picnic areas, outdoor camping locations, parking area, shelters, and nature routes. GUWs might likewise run lawn mowers, weedeaters and blowers.

Candidates should be at least 16 years of ages; however, just those 18 years or older and have a valid motorist’s license can operate state cars and devices.

Park Attendant/ Box Office Operator

Park Attendants/ Box office Operators work seasonally as much as 40 hours each week, with vacation and weekend work needed. The positions typically begin from March-April and run through September-October.

Job Information

The Visitor Center Office Attendant works 16 hours a week throughout weekends and rotating shifts, as needed. This position will be required to work weekends and/or weekdays.

The pay is $17 per hour.

Duties and Responsibilities

This position will be helping the park’s workplace assistants by being the first contact to welcome park visitors and providing them with information and assistance. Duties include: responding to the telephone and emails, using a reservations system to book camping and centers, taking messages, performing clerical responsibilities like typing letters and fliers, and opening/closing the visitor center on the days they are working. They will also run two-way radios and handle cash.

Requirements and Qualifications

The ideal candidate ought to know the area surrounding the park.
